Downtown Baltimore
The Baltimore Washington metropolitan area is a wonderful place to call home!

Whether you are moving across the state, across the country or from overseas, transitioning to a new environment and setting up a new home is always challenging. The good news is that the Baltimore Washington metropolitan area is a wonderful place to live and to raise a family. For those of you who enjoy city living, UMBC is an easy commute from Baltimore, Washington D.C. and Annapolis. Many faculty members also choose to live in the suburbs. UMBC is adjacent to two old-growth suburbs, Catonsville and Arbutus. Columbia, which is consistently rated one of the best places in the country to live, is another popular choice. Ellicott City, with its charming historical district, is also worth checking out. Below are some resources to help you get started.
